Our hospital is constantly expanding to accommodate the ever changing needs of our clients and their pets. A relatively new service that our hospital now provides is Vet-Stem Regenerative Cell Therapy. Vet-Stem therapy has been used for many years in horses that endured debilitating tendon, ligament and joint injuries. It was first used in dogs to treat osteoarthritis in 2005.

The controversy involved in embryonic stem cells is not an issue here. Vet-Stem cells are naturally occurring cells that are produced by a non-vital renewable tissue source from your pet. Vet-Stem cells are easy and safe to collect and the cells are available for use in the affected joint within 48 hours of collection.

Vet-stem cells are currently used successfully for the treatment of canine osteoarthritis, immune mediated rheumatoid arthritis and soft tissue repair of tendons and ligaments. The procedure is also being tested for use in many other applications, such as neurological, kidney, heart, liver and immune mediated diseases.

Feedback from veterinarians and pet parents show that over 75% of patients improved after Vet-Stem treatment.

Dr. Sophie Steele is a credentialed veterinarian and is available for appointments at our hospital to evaluate your canine companion and to determine if Vet-Stem cell therapy could be beneficial for your pet. Please call anytime during regular business hours to schedule an appointment.

    Dear Dr. Steele,
Vader wanted to say hello as a proud and very healthy , rambunctious stem cell beneficiary. I am so glad that you are expanding this great option for others.

Vader is still running around like crazy, even giving our puppy ( we are CCI puppy raisers now) a run for him money.

I hope you and your family are well. We’d still love to meet up at the tide pools some weekend!

    Best,
    Christine Gallup & Vader
