Veterinary Office Specialist / Receptionist, Full Time – Position filled

We’re looking for another full time veterinary office specialist / receptionist. One who is an outstanding individual and pet lover, one who has a strong customer orientation, a great work-ethic, and a very positive attitude.

All candidates must have prior experience of working or volunteering at a veterinary hospital. At least 1 year’s worth of experience is strongly preferred, though we will consider those who have less.

This is a full time position, with a minimum of 30 hours a week, covering at least every other Saturday. Hours may or may not increase over time. Compensation is dependent upon experience.

Proficiency must be demonstrated in:

• Veterinary or similar experience is preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Excellent telephone & customer service skills
• Very good writing skills
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to type 55+ wpm

Every year, especially as summer approaches, we receive a number of requests from those wishing to volunteer their time or intern at our hospital. Historically, we receive between 75-100 resumes for every job we post. That means you need to stand out from the crowd if you want your resume to “pop” to the top of our stack. Here are some tips to help make that happen. First, always include a cover letter with your resume. A good cover letter includes reasons why you want to work at our hospital and why you would make an outstanding candidate. Good resumes are well organized and tailored to a particular job opening.
