Rancho Santa Fe Veterinary Hospital has teamed up with Lauren Helm Photography to provide our clients with a new professional pet photography service. Starting January 2010, we’ll start taking appointments for capturing your pet’s loving and quirky natures onto either take-home DVD’s or amazing quality prints.

Who We Photograph: Your Best Friend!

We take great pictures of your pet, whether he or she is a dog, cat, bird, rabbit, mouse/rat, or lizard. We can also photograph multiple pets, and, if you want, you with your pets!

What We Do: Studio Photography

Rancho Santa Fe Veterinary Hospital has created a fully equipped photo studio within our hospital, including professional studio lighting, backdrops, and camera equipment. In the future, we plan to offer a service where we can travel to you to have your pets photos taken at an in-home or at outdoor location.

Sessions and Packages We Offer

A single studio session with our photographer and assistant costs $100.  You can bring as many pets as you would like during this session.  Included in the price is one 8×10 print.

Below is a summary of the packages we offer. There is no limit to how many packages can be purchased.

• Bronze Paws: Two 8×10 prints ($29)
• Silver Tails: Two 8×12 prints ($59)
• Gold Whiskers: One 12×18 print, and one 8×10 print ($89)

• Pet DVD: All images burned onto a DVD, without any touch-up or modification ($299)
• Framing: We can provide cost-effective but classy framing and matte options, starting at $79 for 12×18 prints.
• A La Carte: Single prints of almost any size, including ones on large canvas, can be ordered with a minimum purchase of any package above.

How to Make An Appointment

We offer pet photography services in our studio on Sunday. Please call our hospital at any time (our phone number is 858-759-8797) and let a receptionist know that you would like to make pet photography appointment. If you are greeted with an answering machine, please leave a message and we will get back to you by the next business day.

Photo sessions typically last between 30 minutes to 1 hour.

In addition to the date and time that you would like to schedule your appointment, the receptionist will want to know:

• How many pets would you like to have photographed?
• What kind of pets (dog, cat, bird, etc) will be photographed?
• Does your pet ever show any aggressive tendencies the photographer should be aware of?
• Do you prefer a certain color background (black, white, gray) for a studio session?

When Do I Get to See My Pictures?

After taking your pet’s pictures, we’ll spend a bit of time processing and touching-up the pictures to make sure you’ll get the best possible print. Unfortunately, this is a time-intensive process. Which means, getting the pictures ready for you to view will take some time, usually one to two weeks at the most. Once they’re ready, we’ll post them onto our website and provide you with a password you can use to see which pictures you want printed. Once you’ve made your decision, let us know and we’ll finish the work!

Do you ship the pictures to me or do I pick them up?

We can ship the pictures to you for a nominal shipping charge. If, however, you choose to have us frame your picture, you will have to pick those up.
